The CBT test was originally developed by the International Council of Nurses and is an adaptation of the NMC’s Test of Competence in Practice. CBT is the first part of the test and the candidate can choose from their desired field of specialization which are as follows:
The test is primarily designed to evaluate your preparedness and knowledge of nursing, assessment conditions, and evidence-based practice and consists of 120 multiple-choice theoretical questions. The questions have to be answered in 4 hours and are usually based on generic and specialized competencies required in a nursing profession. The second part of the test is OSCE (Objective Structured Clinical Examination) and is intended to test your practical knowledge. The successful completion of both these tests makes you eligible to work as a registered nurse.
